Since 2013, Victory has been working to train and collaborate with a diverse group of LGBTQ leaders in Colombia. Elections this year (held on Sunday, October 25) will see quite an uptick in openly LGBTQ candidates in the country that is seen as a regional leader on LGBTQ issues.
For the past two years, Victory has worked with Caribe Afirmativo and other partners as founders and members of the Observatory of LGBTI Political Participation in Colombia. The Observatory serves as a think tank and resource center with the focus of understanding the political dynamics of Colombia and empowering the LGBTQ population there to take an active role in politics. For more information about the LGBTQ candidates and issues involved in this year’s election visit votoporlaiguldad.com.
