APPLICATIONS ARE LIVE FOR OUR 2025 CANDIDATE & CAMPAIGN TRAININGS.
LGBTQ+ Victory Institute is bringing its signature Candidate & Campaign Training to Los Angeles, CA on September 4 – 7, 2025, as part of its efforts to train a diverse pipeline of LGBTQ+ leaders to run for office and win!
In partnership with Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE), trans and gender-expansive candidates can sign up for a free-of-charge training enhancement from September 7 – 9, 2025 to engage in trans-exclusive campaign training content. The selection to opt-in for this training enrichment can be made on the application. The additional programming will cover overnight accommodations for participants on September 7 & 8. Participants will depart the programming on the morning of September 9. For any questions, please email training@victoryinstitute.org.
Understanding how to develop a winning strategy that uses campaign tools effectively is what leads a campaign to victory. Our four-day Candidate & Campaign Training provides comprehensive, non-partisan training to present and future LGBTQ+ candidates, campaign staff and community leaders. Participants will learn the necessary skills and strategies by engaging in tough, realistic campaign situations, and hearing from our campaign experts.
This Los Angeles, CA Candidate & Campaign Training will feature our Elected Official Trainer Danica Roem, Virginia State Senator and a Candidate & Campaign Training alumna.
We’ve trained thousands of openly LGBTQ+ people on how to build winning campaigns — including former Houston Mayor Annise Parker, U.S. Congressman Robert Garcia, and Virginia State Senator Danica Roem.
This training is hosted in partnership with Equality California and FLUX.
Application Process
- Submit an online application by the application deadline of Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
- Staff will review all applications.
- After review, you will receive notice of whether or not you will attend the training.
- Staff will send you registration information to officially be a trainee.
Application Dates
- Apply by Wednesday, March 26, 2025 for priority consideration for all 2025 Candidate & Campaign Trainings
- Application decisions will come out in early April 2025
- Any remaining spots will operate on a rolling application basis and application will close three weeks before the training. For the Los Angeles, CA Candidate & Campaign Training, the last day for rolling application will be Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Program Costs
- $400.00 for all program materials, training fees, food, and a shared double hotel room for 3-nights
- $675.00 for all program materials, training fees, food, and a private single hotel room for 3-nights
Note: These are fixed costs. Regardless of whether you live locally or not, you must select one of these two prices. It’s required that program participants stay at host hotel due to long training days/nights.
Agenda Overview
- Day 1: Training begins Thursday in the evening, 5pm-late night
- Day 2/3: Friday and Saturday, 8am-late night
- Day 4: Sunday training concludes at 12:00pm.
