Former Senator and Bogotá Mayor Claudia López was inducted into the LGBTQ+ Political Hall of Fame on December 7, 2024 at LGBTQ+ Victory Institute’s International LGBTQ+ Leaders Conference in Washington, DC.
Claudia López, the first LGBTQ+ person elected mayor of any Latin American capital city, has been a prominent advocate for social equity, justice, women’s rights, and environmental sustainability. She previously served as a Senator in Colombia and ran as a vice-presidential candidate in 2017.
