Hawaii Attorney General Anne Lopez

Anne E. Lopez (D) assumed her role as State of Hawaii Attorney General in December 2022.

Before her appointment, she served as COO and general counsel for Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, the state’s community hospital system, as a special assistant to former Hawaii AG David Louie and as an attorney in private practice prior to joining state government.

Prior to attending law school, Anne was an occupational therapist. Attorney General Lopez earned her J.D. from the University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law (summa cum laude) and her B.S. from San Jose State University in California. Her commitment in serving as the Attorney General for the State of Hawaii is to ensure that the Department enforces the laws of the state equitably and is a responsive, trustworthy government agency that Inspires the confidence of the residents of Hawaii.
