his research report is intended as an early step towards a vibrant field of inquiry and scholarship in transgender politics. Developed in consultation with a broad community, the research design and questions address some important questions about transgender representation in formal institutions. The report examine candidates running for office, their campaigns and how has the representation varied across space and identity. It also looks at the impact of trans* candidates who have been elected for office.
