WASHINGTON–Today, LGBTQ+ Victory Institute President & CEO Annise Parker issued the following statement on the Trump administration’s ongoing attacks on LGBTQ+ people, including recently erasing transgender and queer people on government websites by using the term “LGB”:
“Trump’s erasure of transgender people from federal resources is a blatant attack on our community—one ripped straight from the Project 2025 playbook. His administration is systematically dismantling protections and federal resources for LGBTQ+ people, and transgender Americans are bearing the brunt of this assault. But let’s be clear: no amount of censorship or attacks can erase trans people from our society, our history or our movement. LGBTQ+ elected officials and other leaders across the country and world are standing firm against these attacks – and we refuse to let it divide us.”
