Political fundraising leader Ben Dotson joins LGBTQ+ Victory Institute to lead fundraising efforts supporting our global network LGBTQ+ public servants.
(WASHINGTON) LGBTQ+ Victory Institute, the global organization that supports LGBTQ+ elected and appointed officials, announces today the appointment of Ben Dotson as Vice President of Development. The appointment comes as unrelentless attacks on LGBTQ+ rights and identity come from all sides, and our work and mission grow in importance.
“Ben brings the right mix of experience and passion for our work, which will be vital as we move toward the biggest election cycles of our democracy,” says Evan Low, President & CEO of LGBTQ+ Victory Institute. “We are proud to welcome Ben, a former Victory Institute appointee, back into the fold to help lead us into the new era of representation and spearhead our critical fundraising efforts.”
Dotson worked at EMILY’s List most recently and has worked in campaigns, digital engagement and political fundraising for over 16 years. As the Vice President of Digital, he led the two most successful digital fundraising cycles in the organization’s history and built a supporter community of over 6 million. He also served as an appointee in the Department of Energy under President Obama, part of our Political Appointments Program
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Victory Institute at such a pivotal time,” says Dotson. “The Institute’s programs are building the pipeline of LGBTQ+ leaders — creating opportunities for candidates to learn, grow, and prepare to serve their communities. Having benefited from this programming myself, I know how transformational it can be for those stepping into public life.”
LGBTQ+ Victory Institute provides training, leadership development and programming for elected officials worldwide, including its signature Candidate and Campaign training and its annual International LGBTQ+ Leaders Conference.
