The Victory Institute’s 2017 International LGBTQ Leaders Conference is just 2 weeks away! We’re expecting record attendance at this year’s International LGBTQ Leaders Conference, with close to 400 people registered already. Joining the Victory Institute this year will be: Senator Tammy Baldwin – WI, Senator Cory Booker – NJ, Representative Maxine Waters – CA, State Senator Ricardo Lara, CA, Former Mayor of Houston Annise Parker and Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia. Many more LGBTQ elected officials and civil society leaders will be speaking at the 2017 International LGBTQ Leaders Conference, including several members of congress from Brazil, Guatemala, Peru and Venezuela. We’ll also be hosting participants from Victory’s numerous leadership programs: The Victory Congressional Internship, Victory Empowerment Fellowship, The David Bohnett Victory Congressional Fellowship, and the Bohnett Leaders Fellowship.
We’re also excited to announce State Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith will be receiving the Tammy Baldwin Breakthrough Leadership Award. This award represents the representative’s outstanding leadership as a rising leader within the LGBTQ community of elected officials.
This year’s International LGBTQ Leaders Conference will include a Women Out to Win reception and a Leading in Color reception in addition to the Opening and Closing receptions.
