India

Victory Institute and Solidarity began working together in 2016 to implement programs aimed at increasing political participation of LGBTI people in India.

Victory Institute and Solidarity Foundation began working together in 2016 to increase the political participation of LGBTI people in India. We aim to achieve this by preparing LGBTI leaders in India to participate in their democracies, share experiences and knowledge, and conduct research on maximizing the impact of our work. Currently we are researching the best methods for opening spaces for political participation, including political leadership trainings, a civil society forum, and a research publication.

Successes in India

Seven meetings were organized that covered 15 districts of the state of Karnataka and 15 districts of the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in late 2016.
