6th Conference of LGBTI Political Leaders of the Americas and the Caribbean

6th Conference of LGBTI Political Leaders of the Americas and the Caribbean
Mexico City

Democracy Demands Equality

The 2023 LGBTI Political Leaders Conference of the Americas is the largest event that brings together out LGBTIQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and queer) leaders, public servants, and allies.

Since 2014, over 1,350 LGBTIQ+ leaders from more than 40 countries – across the Americas – have attended our Conferences and used the tools and skills acquired during the conference to lead nonprofit organizations, become dedicated public servants, and bring about change in their communities. Participants from all over the Americas and the Caribbean will arrive at the sixth edition of our conference in Mexico City to share ideas, exchange best practices, and lay the foundations for advancing equality in their countries of origin.

Past conferences were held in Peru, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Colombia and virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, we had more than 480 LGBTIQ+ leaders from the Americas, including 43 elected officials from more than 40 countries, including Erika Hilton, State Deputy, Brazil; Julian Bedoya, Mayor of Toro City, Colombia; Fernando Us, Human Rights Defender, Guatemala; Tamara Adrián, National Assemblyman, Venezuela and Leslie Herod, State Representative of Colorado, United States.
