Wick Thomas proudly represents Missouri’s 19th District in the Missouri House of Representatives and is the first trans/gender non-conforming elected official in Missouri. In their first term, Rep. Thomas was a driving force behind founding the Missouri Intersectional Equality Conference, an officially recognized Equality Caucus in Missouri, and currently serves as co-chair. Rep. Thomas has a long career of public service prior to elected office which has been dedicated to uplifting the voices of young people through libraries and museums.
Rep Thomas has received recognition for their activism and leadership as a founder of the first public trans support group in the region, an Equality Rider, and founder of EQUAL. They have been named a “Mover and Shaker” by the Library Journal, awarded Best Activist by Pitch Magazine, honored with the Creating Change Award from The National LGBTQ Taskforce, and named a Legislative Champion by PROMO.
Outside of their legislative duties, Rep. Thomas regularly volunteers for nonprofits within their district, helps build and fill little free libraries, owns a historic arts business, and works on their urban homestead.
