Gabriele Magni

Gabriele Magni (he/him/his) is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Political Science at Loyola Marymount University, where he also founded and directs the LGBTQ+ Politics Research Initiative. He holds a PhD in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and he has held visiting fellowships at the Russell Sage Foundation, Princeton University, and Oxford University. His research examines public opinion, voting behavior and political representation, with a focus on LGBTQ+ politics and immigration. His work has appeared in leading academic journals, including The American Political Science Review, The American Journal of Political Science, and The Journal of Politics. Gabriele is currently finishing a book that explores the experiences of LGBTQ+ political candidates. He has also written op-eds for The Washington Post, Politico and The New Republic, and his scholarship has been covered by outlets such as The New York Times, NBC News, ABC News, TIME, Al Jazeera, USA Today, Associated Press, and Reuters.
