Eric Zimmerman
City Councilor, City of Portland
Councilor Eric Zimmerman represents Portland’s District 4, which includes Downtown and select neighborhoods in Southeast Portland. He serves as Chair of the Finance Committee, bringing years of city management experience to help lead Council through the process of balancing the city’s budget. He also serves on the Housing and Homelessness and Community and Public Safety committees. Councilor Zimmerman is committed to making Portland’s parks safe and welcoming for everyone, cutting red tape to promote housing development and affordability, and ensuring youth sports remain funded and accessible. In every decision, he works with Portland’s reputation and livability in mind.
This year marks Portland’s transition to a new form of government. The new structure establishes twelve City Councilors representing four districts, bringing better representation to Portlanders across the city. Councilor Zimmerman is proud to play a role in building the foundation of this new form of government, applying his experience in city management and as a former Chief of Staff to a Multnomah County Commissioner to help lead Portland through this next chapter in city governance.
