Victory Institute to present at World OutGames’ fourth Global Human Rights Conference

On Friday, May 26,Victory Institute’s Director of Domestic Programs, Sheila E. Isong will lead a three-hour presentation on Campaigns and Candidacy at the World OutGame's fourth Global Human Rights Conference in Miami. This will be the first time Victory Institute is partnering with the World OutGames and Victory Institute's second event in south Florida this year. In March, we held our first Candidate and Campaign Training of the year in Ft. Lauderdale. The training featured over 40 openly LGBTQ individuals who are seriously considering a run for public office. It also featured Florida state Reps. Carlos Guillermo Smith and David Richardson, and former Houston Mayor Annise Parker.

Are you interested in working on a campaign or considering a run for office in the next few years? Attend this session and you’ll learn about what questions to ask yourself, who to talk to, and what to do to build on your record of community leadership. It doesn’t matter if you’re a volunteer, a staffer or a candidate, you’ll learn how to set yourself up for a successful campaign. Additionally, the session will preview Victory’s full 4-day Candidate & Campaign Training, going over the different topics covered and what to expect. The session will be held on Friday, May 26, from 9 to 11:45 a.m. at the Lowes Hotel (1601 Collins Avenue) in Poincieta Room 4.
