Andrés Treviño (he/él) is an LGBTQ+ rights advocate from Guadalajara, México. He is currently the Global Programs Associate at LGBTQ+ Victory Institute.

Previously, Andrés served as sexual diversity director for the State Government of Jalisco, Mexico, the first public role in the country destined to develop public policy for LGBTQ+ inclusion and recognition. During his time in office, his work helped achieve several milestones, including the legal recognition of trans youth, equal marriage, a ban on conversion therapy, and affirmative action to ensure LGBTQ+ political participation. He also developed a free legal counsel program for victims of discrimination.

Before his time with the government, Andrés was involved in grassroots political movements and has worked on political campaigns.

Andres earned degrees in international relations and law at ITESO and a diploma in Public Policy from the University of Guadalajara. He is also an alum of Victory’s leadership training.
