Patrick Adams
Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (Sen. Susan Collins)
Pat is a rising junior at Colby College in Maine, majoring in Environmental Studies. As a member of the steering committee of The Colby Bridge, he plans campus events and conferences to raise awareness of LGBT issues and coordinated volunteer operations against Proposition 1 in 2009. Pat is an Eagle Scout and a varsity rower.
Laura Blackburn
Rep. Tammy Baldwin
Laura is a rising senior at Purdue University studying political science and history. She worked on Rep. André Carson’s 2010 re-election campaign and interned in the Indiana House of Representatives. She is an officer of the Purdue Queer Student Union and a Senator in the Purdue Student Government.
Elizabeth Duthinh
Rep. David Cicilline
Elizabeth is a rising senior at Brown University studying public policy. She has worked at Pride at Work and the Education Voters Institute and is an advocate of safer schools, serving on the National Advisory Council for GLSEN. She co-leads the transgender advocacy group GenderAction which has successfully campaigned for preferred name use and health services at Brown.
Jae Henderson
Rep. John Lewis
Jae studies American Studies and Entertainment Business and rising senior at UC Berkeley. She revived a long-lapsed campus group for Cal’s black LGBT community known as Zawadi, plays rugby, performs spoken word poetry, and has started her own clothing line.
Katherine Miller
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand
Katie is a rising senior at Yale University who began her undergraduate studies at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Katie is a leader of OutServe and plans to return to military service after graduation and the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
Mitchell Rivard
Rep. Nancy Pelosi
Mitchell is a senior studying Social Relations and Policy at Michigan State University. He has worked in the communications office of former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm and has worked on several political campaigns. Mitchell will intern with the Minority Leader’s press office this summer.
